I don't mind constructive criticism. I'd understand if people said "I'm not very impressed. I'm bored watching us. In time I'd like to see Mancini progress into a more expansive style with us", which is negative, but fair and true. But to call a manager gutless and a liar, I don't get it? Then to actually read into them threads and see comments like "Italian prick" "this wanker needs to go" "Mancini OUT!" - who the fuck are these people? Unless we got Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger or Guardiola we would probably do nothing anywhere near what people expect of the next man. Even if we did get any of them I'd expect not much good would come in the first 2-3 years anyway. And the chances of getting any of them four are just about nil!
At the ground the insults are just as stupid and extreme. There were people boo'ing after the final whistle the other night, I mean, come on! What do people seriously expect? Both teams were set up the same (although they were probably slightly better with greater pace, passing, understanding, experience, work ethic, cohesion than us!), had just one or two players missing, neither wanted to lose, and to be honest if either team would have actually gone for it I think the other team would have actually gone and won. So what else was to be done?
And I must have read this 100 times recently; that United have never been weaker. Well compared to a treble winning team or a team who won three titles and got to two CL finals in a row - yes, they were weaker than that. But they are still capable of winning the Prem, we aren't! They are still capable of getting far in the CL, none if us would blink twice if we finised third in the group stage (for them it would be a disaster!)! So why all of a sudden do we rate ourselves higher than them and expect a 3-0 hammering and wipe them off the pitch? This current United team is actually stronger than it was around 2004-06 anyway, so how has they "never been weaker?!"
I think too many blues don't live in the real world. Realism is shown by a minority of blues. The amount of times I read "I understand that it takes time to build and develop a decent team" each week I could count on one hand. The amount of time I read "Mancini out" a week I couldn't actually keep up with. And that fuckin ridiculous!
