difference is that our blues love the club, their plastics are glory hunters.
simples.

i thought the cockney red tag was first exstablished in the 80's when they could hardly be glory hunters there have always been a large amount of their fans from else where if they were sucessfull or not

The Cockney reds were around in the 70s and possibly earlier and the number of coaches heading north up the M6 to the swamp has been a standing joke for many years, I think it all started post-Munich.

went to the ming dyasty in gorse hill this lunchtime to get some chips, deary me, was like an ear spy of regional accents. even the most ardent mcr based red would have been emarrassed. i was cringeing. one fucker didnt even know his way to the ground and was asking the woman behind the counter for directions. ycnmiu.

It started after 1958 along with the Irish thing. And pretty easy for them in the early days as the rags had a good outfit in the 60s.

Haha, a stretford blue just like myself!!! There's quite a few focus sleepers knocking about!!

Most local Rags don't like the out of towners but truth be told the club would be fucked without them.
They get to the ground 3 hours early (I work in Trafford park a lot) spend shit loads in the shop and at the food bars buy a program
And then get back on the coach and go home.
I think they are pretty dedicated TBH when you see how full the boozer is local to you at 3:00 on a Saturday, no excusse any more regarding not being able to get a ticket most games go on general sale now.

The truth is that if they didn't have to bus 10s of thousands of people that live 100s of miles from their ground in every game their stadium would be half empty.

check this little beauty out then.

was in piccadilly station about 5.30, crawling with rags everywhere. every accent under the sun possible. looking lost and clueless to where they are.

two both passed me with their GAY scarfs on, but here's the best bit...

one of them wearing a FULHAM away shirt.

First season without a trophy and they'll be gone .35 years? They wouldn't come up here after 35 weeks.

I live in Tintwistle and for every rag home game theres an endless stream of cars with their pathetic scarfs and flags that have come via Woodhead off the Northbound M1.

Had one stop me and ask for directions once so I sent him back towards Sheffield over the Snake!

I've been exiled in North London for many years now and the number if rags here never ceases to amaze me. When I first moved down I nearly got into trouble a number of times because the sight if some tool walking round London in a rag shirt really winds me up and I often can't resist having a verbal pop. Without doubt they are the best supported club in London and that is shameful because where I live you can access The Emirates and WHL quite easily. However, the majority of proper football fans down here do support local clubs and it is those less obsessed with the game that follow the rag scum.

They are everywhere though. Wherever I've worked there's always been a number of them and they are always pathetic. In my current office there are three and two of them have never even been to the swamp. It does mean that it is fun to wind them up.though as they have no moral authority (although they fail to truly recognise this). I had great fun with one on Friday who tried to start some banter. He got verbally slapped down to the extent that he retreated back to his desk and put his Ipod headphones in so he didn't have take anymore.
