He's come under fire recently, but I didnt think he had such a bad game.

Having to have such incompetent pillocks around him. I thought he had a decent game tbh, just defense is a mess at times. I thought the subs cost us, no one marking scholes at all.

His shot stopping at times is brilliant but sometimes you have to question his positioning and decision making. Some of his kicks and throws today put us in more trouble then good.

No, his shot-stopping is his entire game and how many shots did he stop today? Says it all.

His command of the defence is uninspiring as he hardly ever comes out to claim the ball, hence not instilling confidence in his defence.

As for his distribution, lets not even get started. That kick into the crowd said it all.

Bring back Joe and let the best keeper win, Given can start cup matches. Birmingham having such a good defensive record isn't a coincidence and isn't just to do with their defenders' quality, they feel confident to have Joe behind them and in control. If either underperforms they get benched. Right now, Shay's only "pressure" comes from someone who can't even start for the Faroe Islands.

Given isn't good enough, it's not all about shot stopping, we need GOOD distribution not lumping the ball up making it 50:50 chance of retaining it.
Also, he cannot command his 6 yard box, which is costing us dearly.

Joe is good enough if he both retains his form and keeps improving. Given will be a fine #2 for him, and if he wants first team football, then we should shop for a new keeper I think.

It's about time that we admitted that he is not good enough. His only strength is his shot stopping. Doesn't come to collect corners, distribution from goal kicks is dreadful, doesn't command his area (communicational skills) and his centre halves and is simply not good enough for where we want to go.

He almost cost us three goals today and that's worrying. His decision making sometimes is bewildering and I'd definately shop for a new goalkeeper in the summer. Sorry Shay, but it's just not good enough.

Giving out about distribution wrecks my head beyond belief. Saying he should do this, should do that. It is not up to him whether he should play long or short ball, and like he is instructed to do, he kicks the ball long, which is lumping it up the pitch and in that case it is always going to be 50:50 and down to the players on the pitch to fight for it. It is not a case of a mangnet and mental. 50/50 game is a dangerous game to play but it is the one he is instructed to do so.
Trying to make him a scapegoat will do us no good and avoid issues elsewhere that need addressing.
You're not going to find much better then him and you certinaly wont find better than in him the Premiership.
But, moan, moan, moan. Always someone else's mistake.

Gomes??!!! he's far from up to given standards if you ask me! flaps and some of his decision making is poor at times. He's had 2 good games of shot stopping, thats it. Been average all season IMHO.
