Given isn't good enough, it's not all about shot stopping, we need GOOD distribution not lumping the ball up making it 50:50 chance of retaining it.
Also, he cannot command his 6 yard box, which is costing us dearly.
New goalie on the shopping list please!!!!

Anyhow, it's only a point lost. We need to draw vs Arsenal now (I had us down as a draw against Manure and loss at Arsenal).

Id say that organizing the defense and distribution are becoming more important for us than shot stopping.

Quality shot stopper but his aerial ability is pretty poor. Think we need a tall(er) keeper...look at the freekick van der sar saved, Given wouldn't have got to that.

Hes a great shot stopper but his decision making and arial ability leaves a lot to be desired tbh when he came out for a cross today i was panicking as he seems to be a liability when claiming crosses and coming off his line.

He didn't really have anything to do today, for a change he came off his line and started to command his area a bit more.

one thing though, once again his decision making and distribution came into play, second half he has the ball to hand, launches a stupid ball to de jong who has 3 players within 5 yards of him, we lose it, 20 seconds later bellers knocks chuckle over and the scum have a free-kick 20 yards out on the wing, if they would of scored from that i would of been fuming.

Get Hugo Lloris, Hart has made great strides this season but he is still a baby in goalkeeping terms. I do feel Shay is the weak link, he can't command his area and he flaps at every cross that comes over. He didn't really do too much wrong yesterday, and part from some poor kicking and one suicidal throw, but he has cost us a lot of goals this season. A recent example is Jerome's goal for Birmingham last week. It didn't cost us on the day but is was a major error from given and on another day could have cost us big time. I feel Joe Hart has many of the same deficiencies as Given though, his kicking is poor and his positioning is substandard. I see know reason why we can't raid the European leagues for a top quality goalkeeper like Lloris and Akinfeev, as its a position we are crying out for improvement in and I can't see either of the players mentioned costing us more than 15 million.

No he's not. What is the point of a discussion forum if posters can't offer their opinion without somebody saying "stop slagging him off" or "he's a scapegoat" etc. If you read most of the posts they are valid. Most posters support the team / players during the game but offer their views on here and that IMHO is the right way.
