Apparently it's to prevent a charge of age discrimination... he told me that anybody who looks under 40 (I do) get's ID'd... because there was a case where a barman asked a guy in his 20's for id (law is 21 in USA)... and another bloke took offence when he wasn't asked for ID even though he was obviously in his 40's... he took the bar to court and won!!! Only in America eh?

I got ID'd in Discovery Cove a couple of weeks ago and I'm 47.
I put it down to the fact I was practically naked, so she obviously thought that with a body like mine I must be borderline 21 years old

am 31 and asked for id every now and then.about a month ago i just about got into opus. The spa bouncer said "go on then! What age are you mate? 18?" it can be annoying

Don't really see the problem. Surely you all carry your driving license in your wallet? I had a strange experience a few weeks ago when I kept getting ID'd everytime I went to the bar by the same bloody person - Pub was empty too.
Been stopped loads of times but the funniest thing I remember was a mate of mine, he had just turned 18 and we were going out for his birthday. We were heading into the bar and the bouncer wasn't even looking at us, the mate stopped, went over to him and said "I suppose you're looking id" the bouncer looked at him and said ok then, he then threw his licence at the bouncer and said "count it up"! fuck me we had to drag him away the bouncer was going to kick the head off him! Even to this day he hates us for bringing it up!
