I hate that team

had an argument with mine once because i'd bought a ticket for the away derby. he said he couldn't understand why i would put money into the pockets of the scum. i said it was to support city. he argued that he would never step foot in old trafford.

i asked whether he'd go to an f.a.cup semi between us and liverpool at o.t. because they're not involved (in the days the semis weren't at wembley).

he paused for a moment before deciding that as united get a percentage of the ticket money for the use of o.t., he couldn't possibly consider it.

he's as mad as a box of frogs, but sticks to his principles so fair play.

My Nan - a massive blue from Moss Side - always said to me when she was alive; "don't you ever set foot in that horrible teams horrible ground!" Givin them money as an away fan was worse to her than people who sit in pubs watching their games "supporting" them.

I never went until last season when I went to both the league and league cup games. Maybe never again!
