I hate this government

You should not fuck with someone's pension retrospectively.
Just completely out of order.

Many other people have had to endure such cuts, and a lot worse, for a long time now.

Firemen need to get up to date and realise just what is going on for most of the people who pay their wages.

And stop whining like children who have had their sweets taken away.
We do realise and we can hopefully do something about it now go back in the corner and let the unions fight for your working rights as usual.

So which personnel in the military can do our job apart from obviously the firefighters in the RAF, don't know of any other trades that are trained in BA, WATER, ROPE, HIGH RISE, CONFINED SPACES, RTC, ANIMAL, CRANE, CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, NUCLEAR, MAURAUDUNG TERRORISTS RESCUES. But I'm all ears if you can tell me?

So it's true, all firemen are fucking heroes. When you've finished blowing sunshine up your own arse why not do the job you signed up for, if not ,get another job.
Not blowing sunshine up my own arse I was pointing out it's not just about fires, he said there are loads of military can do this job but where is their training? They get taught to roll out a hose and squirt water from outside not exactly the same is it. As for striking over bonfire weekend maybe we should wait until it's quiet and do it then no one will notice pretty much defeats the object of strike action which is to make a point is it not? I've never said we are all heroes but we do more than just fires maybe one day you will find out but I hope for your sake you don't.
And I'll do the job I signed up for when I get the pension I signed up for.

So you are saying apart from bonfire night the rest of the year you do very little in terms of actually putting out fires, so a monday night in October isn't like a scene from backdraft then?

No what I'm saying is it's our busiest time usually calls quadruple. Fires these days are not our biggest customers these days it's usually RTCs amongst other things, every man and his dog has a fire or fireworks most of them don't even know why.

There aren't any left mate do some research military is on it's arse they are trying to run with TA but can't recruit enough, defence on the cheap.

That's because they also have their own jobs to do as well as cover for you when you can't be arsed.

I was out last night so I'm a little late - any of stokers in the RN are more than capable of doing all the upper case jobs. Even the shiny arses can do BA controller.

In fairness it is a skilled job and your terms should be honoured in full pro rata, new starters should be offered new contracts, public sector pensions have been very generous in the past and need to change

Really? I'm bullshiting about the shiny arses?

Sorry to disappoint you but any of the Marine Engineering branch are more than capable of doing your job. I'm trained in all of your upper case jobs. Sorry - just read it again and I can confirm I've never rescued a cat from a tree.

Reassuring to know you signed up for the pension rather than the job. I only hope that isn't the mentality of most of the firemen, including the guys who sorted out my mums microwave fire. Enjoy it.

In fairness if someone promised you retirement at 55 and a decent pension and then took it away you would be pissed off no? it is irksome how some claim their public sector jobs should come with an MBE or Nobel peace prize

I'm annoyed the state pension age is going up to 67 and that means 2 more years for me and i,m only 45
