Let's be fair here, just about everyone took the piss in that season. I guess you could call it "character building", though it didn't seem that way at the time! That was a dark, dark era.

Absolutely agree. There's little point in whining about the treatment doled out by rival fans at the time. Just acknowledge that it's all part of what made us what we are. Always remember, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Who could blame them anyway? We'd have done exactly the same. That's the nature of football fandom. I don't begrudge the likes of Stockport and Oldham simply because they took the piss when we were down with the dead men. Those days are part of a journey I wouldn't change for the world.

With Stockport County it went further than taking the piss mate.

Felt a bit sorry for Oldham lads though outside the North Stand. Some copped proper nasty smacks.
