I think I'm addicted to Coke Zero.

I drink on average about 5 cans during my working day and always make sure I've got at least 4 litres of it in the fridge when I'm home. If a period of time has passed without drinking it I'll immediately get the urge to drink some and when I do its similar having a cigarette in that any nervous tension or tingly nerves seems to evaporate.

Is this a thing? Can you actually be addicted to a soft drink? Someone told me it's probably the sweetener that they put in to give the same tast as coke but without all the sugar.

Or maybe I have some deep rooted psychological problem that seems to be quelled or fired up by coke zero.

Maybe I'm just batshit crazy.

Absolutely can be addicted to fizzy drinks and the caffeine/chemicals they put in them - I’m always craving a coke

I have found a alternative in recent months - try sparkling flavoured Water - it’s lovely! Especially Rubican - give that a go instead

You have to get off the Coke Zero and drinks like this - will give you diabetes and a heart attack eventually

There's worse things to be addicted to. Is there caffiene in it? If so that's probably it.
I don't think caffeine is harmful, just highly addictive, from what I've read.
I drink caffeine free brews now, sleep a lot better since quitting.
Just need to quit the nicotine now!!

Isn't rubican full of sugar though? That's what I'm trying to avoid.

Do you not get headaches or an upset stomach from the aspartame?

1650ml during your working day is a lot, and I say that during as an overweight person who drinks too much cola myself.

Why not swap to classic coke and you won't be able to drink as much of the stuff because it isn't sugar free.

Thinking about it I do get sporadic stomach pains that feel like I want to simultaneously curl up in a ball and shit my pants, although that's maybe only once or twice a week.

Yes it is addictive mate. It's mainly the caffeine..
I worked with a young woman once who was addicted to Dr Pepper. (not sexually) :)

Ween yourself off it.
