I want Barry out of the team thread

Barry is a good palyer to have when you want to control the game and sit on a lead. He's useless in situations like yesterday when you're one man down and chasing the game.

Yaya Toure in contrast has pace, power & vision and why Mancini took him off instead of Barry or the currently under-performing Milner is a complete mystery to me.
 
I think the real problem for us at times is having the 3 of them in the middle when we are in positions where we need to take the game to the opposition, it's slow and predictable and puts too much pressure on the likes of Tevez and Silva to produce something - the lack of goals from the rest of the team is purely down to how we play.

I thought when Milner came into the squad he would be utilised in the same way as he did at Villa last season, he was their driving force and scored a commendable amount of goals from there. I like Barry and it's not really his fault but we can afford to drop him for Milner and have Johnson on the wing with Balo and Tevez up front in a 4-4-2

People say it doesnt work and we failed with it at Blackpool, we did, but it was because their was nobody to drive the team in the centre of the park.

Ted we will give you Barry for Parker dont know how no team tried to sign him this summer always liked him.
 
I think this comes from the fact that sometimes GB doesn't look very mobile and fans liketo see midfielders get up and down.

I think RM likes Barry to sit a little like a second holding player - he wins the ball a lot and generally has good passing ability so i personally think he does a good job.

Leighton, I was tempted to mention Scott Parker in original post, not wishing to hi-jack a Barry thread of course!

The bloke is outstanding, consistently outstanding in a shit team. I find it staggering how he doesn't get a look in the England side, especially as they are crying out for a player who does the dirty work, leaving fat boy/and or Gerrard to be the creative force.

I'll keep Parker and you can keep Barry if you don't mind mate!
