I would make Shay our Best Ever Number 2

Why upset Shay when he is arguably the best keeper in the league, I think he would want to leave if we did this, Arsenal maybe? Plus we have enough crocks.

Buffon is only a year younger than Shay, alot of people seem to think he's older than he is because he's been around for so long. He's still got a good few years left in him yet.


If we did buy Buffon i can't see either him or Shay being happy sitting on the bench as they are both world class Keepers who will want regular football. I don't think we need him either with Given between the sticks, he's already proven on many occasions how good he is.

incredible. how anyone would want given on the bench is beyond me. the amount of points that guy has saved us since he joined as well! there is only 2 keepers in the world i would even consider replacing him with and that is cesar from inter and casillas.

I'm sorry I don't see that, much as i would like to, his distribution and command of his area are both pretty weak. That being said I think he is a world class shot stopper.

What!!! weak is a piss take weak against who/what keeper? They might not be his best attributes but they are better than most, I think weak is very harsh
 
Buffon is great but factor in he might not settle, might not like the lifestyle, and many other variables. Do we risk the goalkeeping stability we have for this? Shay is good enough - sure, Buffon may be better, but basically no keeper in the EPL is better than Given at the moment so we have no need to "upgrade".
