Why is he so shit (apart from f.e.a.r.)
when the Roses are all timeless classics?

Same goes with other artists mate, it is a tough doo trying to make it solo after even a short amount of time being innovative and inspirational within a group.

Morrissey - Never really hit the heights he did with The Smiths.
Brett Anderson - Solo/The Tears projects didn't really come close to the Suede era.
Tim Booth - Went back to James after his solo work didn't really hit any heights.

It's tough to mould something that special and individual again. The expectancy can just drown you i expect, similar to our club and some sections of the fan base at the moment.

Can he play any musical instrument. If not he has no real talent at all because he cannot sing.
Just shows you how important the rest of the Stone Roses members were covering up for this chancer..

I think i'm right in saying he played all the instruments on his first solo album, i find the majority of his solo stuff innovative and progressive, although i admit his last 2 albums have been a bit stale,
if the Roses had stuck together and produced his kind of stuff i would have been delighted, he's certainly been a lot more prolific than the supposed "creative genius" of the band that was Squire... its probably best if you just keep on listening to your mariah karey and lighthouse family cd's

You need to listen to it with a more open mind imo. When I first listened I was expecting Roses esque type music, and felt let down. But given time it really grows on you.

To say he has no talent is fucking ignorant. He's such a fantastic song writer, underrated if anything.

His vibes are good, he can't sing for toffee though, he is embarrassing live.

Yes. Apart from the guitar riff in 'My Star', which was played by a lad called Azis, I think.

He has some quality tunes to his name. F.E.A.R is one of my least favourites. His first album was class and a breath of fresh air when it was released.
