Ian Brown

He's talking complete sense, anyone with half a brain can see that the hysterical response to covid has caused far more harm to the economy and will lead to far more deaths in the long term than the few moribund people who have unfortunately died of/with covid who would more than likely have died of some other illness in the near future anyway.

The tweet, which is fucking stupid is on his official account so whether he wrote it or not is irrelevant as he must have some power to approve or remove anything said he thinks is wrong.

People can be alright and decent in life but still have dickish opinions, so not sue what the clamour by a few to use "he's a top bloke if you know him in real life" as a reason to defend such bollocks as the anti vacination bullshit in that comment, he may be a top bloke, but his opinion on this subject is dickish.

Lastly and sadly this means I have to mention them other two plebs which I didn't want to so not to derail the thread, morrissey and noel galagher, both talk shite and have fucking idiotic opinions, but that doesn't diminish the decency of their work or mean you cannot listen to their back catalogue.

Ian Brown artistically decent and produced many a good song, anecdotally by some an alright bloke in real life, his opinion on the pandemic, masks and vacination though is fucking stupid, he can be all three.
The thing is Morrissey and Noel Gallagher are just being honest with their feelings, they aren't pandering to the people or fans or saying what we want to hear, sometimes the truth of people's views hurt other and cause outrage and sometimes it doesn't.
At the end of the day who really listens to what rock/pop stars have to say and judging by the majority in this thread they hate him, think he's shit , talentless and his view isn't worth a toffee YET look at everyone coming on and sticking their opinion up.

No one says they hate him but that the comment is a dissapointment, and tbf the comments about him live are true, I have seen him a few times live and he has not sounded good.

Also it goes both ways, just because you are a big fan of his work doesn't mean you cannot criticise his comments or c9mments endorsed by his official page because you feel the need to defend someone you like and repsect, if your mate said something dickish you would call him out for being a dick, would still be a mate, same you can still like and support Ian Brown and say anti vacination is a stupid position

His stage presence overshadows his singing that's a given but his live performances aren't that bad, they owned madison square garden on their last tour, a few times his voice was wayward but it's not as bad as some would make you believe.
Anyway that's besides the point, personally i couldn't care less what rock stars say, it has zero effect on my day to day, I don't care about their political views or how they see things, it means absolutely nothing to me. The only thing I have in common with Ian brown is we're both from the North and that I have no time for the Queen and the royal family, anything else he does or says is totally irrelevant to me, I love his music and I love the roses.
Why people take offence to what he says and then let everyone know their feelings baffle me but it's how society is to be offended by absolutely everything nowadays and something that totally goes over my head.

That is what forums are though? Where people discuss topics, this thread was on his or his press officers tweet, be pointless if no one comments.

I don't care what he thinks, was just saying condeming him as an artist because of his opinion is as valid and as daft as defending his comment because he is a decent fella and I like his music.

Take away who it is and whether you like his music or not the point is is being anti vacination and calling the pandemic precautions a con a stupid opinion.

To me yes it is and it doesn't matter if a man on the bus of a famous person said it I wouldn't defend their opinion because I disagree with it.

I don't listen to the cheeky girls and find their music dirge but if they came out promoting the vacine I would applaud them

This is your first post in the thread. I’m not sure what it adds to the discussion tbh.
Ok, so mine and several other posters basically asked if(after my first post in my case) it was something Ian Brown actually tweeted? As far as I'm aware Brown hasn't elaborated further. If he actually posted the tweet, and if he did, what he actually meant by it ? The written word is often hard to decipher, even though it makes him look an insensitive idiot IF he meant that tweet in the way almost everyone seems to have taken it.

My first post was not on the Twitter ball, my bad. I must get on there and be a sheep to tweet bleat and bah at everything tweeted and be a snowflake melt, like a big blithering blizzard of barmy bliss. It's toxic and I think the snow on there melts into a big pool of acidic piss at almost every fuckin' controversial tweet that goes viral... Bah... : /

And if my first post isn't relevant to the subject then neither are many thousands of other posts scattered about Bluemoan that "don't add to the discussion TBH". Opinions are like arseholes, ......... ... ..!

Words are just that at the end of the day. It's the way they are used that confuse.

Most regulars know when I'm being serious or jokey, but just so some random Kellogg's Frostflake gets my gist, I have to put a little wink on the end of my posts. ; )

Lockdown hasn’t been kind to him.
