Ian Watkins attacked and killed in prison [P7]

Used to be a hero for me when I was younger, until it came out what a horrendous disgusting twat he was. When I read the details of what he'd done it knocked me sick.

Wondered how he was getting on the other year and saw he'd been stabbed and then decided to pay for protection inside. Shower absolutely no remorse and continued to send letters to the female cretin that was in on it with him. Pair of fuckin freaks.

Good riddence. Should have been forced to live out the rest of his life in misery behind bars though, Death is a release for him.

They absolutely do not, nor should they be praised for committing murder. They're in there in the first place for a similarly serious offence and have just added murder or another murder to their charges, the vermin should never see freedom.

Glad the bastard's dead now, anyway. I don't even want to attempt to remember what he did. I have a vague memory of what it was, and I'm keeping it that way.

His band still have about 300,000 listeners a month on Spotify alone; that's millions of streams a month and probably plenty in other places. I believe he was still earning royalties until a few years ago but now they can confiscate royalties in cases like his. But he was still probably getting a tidy sum while inside.

Then again, I guess it's good that the other lads in the band still get money from their millions of streams. It would be shite if they lost out because of him.

I've always been a bit dubios about the other band members not knowing though. Maybe they didn't...but having been in a touring band myself, you live in such close proximity to other members, living in each other's pockets and joined at the hip. I couldn't imagine my band mates and people around the band close to my bandmates doing something and me not knowing or having a major incling. Certainly not accusing them of knowing details or anything, there's not evidence they did... but I'd be utterly amazed if didn't have any suspicions at all. Lots of his fans knew he liked teenage underage girls, it was no secret around the music scene. He had also been reported for the baby stuff a good while before the arrest from someone who knew the band...so there's no way it was some surprise to them, in my opinion.

True. I’m typing without thinking due to this glee I feel. You see the number one hatred of mine is nonces and child killers. Of course those who did this could be the same.

Glad the cunts dead anyway and it would be nice to learn he suffered plenty, whoever did it.

Lostprophets weren't on Spotify for years and then I remember seeing them pop up randomly. There must have been a deal agreed eventually. I think one of the band members said they all refused to sign something that would mean they get money from the music as it would mean Watkins got it as well, so they forfeit it all.

I used to think that about the rest of Lostprophets but there's been some recent podcast interviews from some of them and after listening I just genuinely don't think they knew. One of them gave him a hiding for turning up late to a gig once, if they're doing that for something that trivial imagine what they'd have done had they know he was a major nonce.

They certainly knew he liked teenage girls though. He was pretty open about it backstage and whatnot. I knew people that toured with them and it was known before he was ever arrested.

The other stuff, who knows. My point was he had been reported and the police failed to investigate him. Knowing how close bands are, I just can't imagine they never caught wind of people in their inner circle reporting him. Just seems unlikely but who knows.

But really, what else are they gonna say on podcasts? They can't exactly even admit to knowing he was rather open about being with teenagers, so they're certainly not gonna admit to even having an incling of the other stuff. Let's be real.

Anyway it's still a shame for them though. Their careers destroyed because of his crimes.
