Graham Hunter was on talksport this afternoon claiming we are waiting to see if Barcelona fail to meet Arsenal's valuation for Cesc Fabregas, if so we will be in for him.

If we are waiting for Fabregas I can't see us going for Afellay if it gives Barcelona more money, but if Barcelona are likely to raise the funds they need for Fabregas then we should go for Afellay. I've only seen him in the Champions League Semi at the Bernabau, and that told me everything I needed to know, fantastic player.

No chance. If they can't afford Fabregas right now, they'll wait until next summer and save up a little. Afellay is one of the best prospects in Europe.

I think the Affellay story is a farce. Barca got lucky last season playing with such a small squad. Injury is bound to happen. They were lucky last season to not have any major injuries and were able to overcome some of the injuries they had. But if you watch them towards the end of the season, they struggled beating a lot of small teams coz they really just couldn't get up for those games. They mostly just focused on the big matchups. This year they need to have a better rotational squad. Even Guardiola can see that.

Right now this is how their team looks.

Forwards: Messi/Villa/Pedro : Affelay and Sanchez as the rotation guys.
Midfield: Xavi/Iniesta/Busquet: Fabregas, Keita, Alcantara as rotational players
Defense:Puyol/Pique/Alvez/Abidal" Adriano, Maxuel, Masherano and Fuentas as backups.


Bojan and Jefren are up for sale. That is a squad of 19 outfield players getting 95% of their first team games. Why in the hell will they consider selling Affelay who they just got?

It is most likely a fake tabloid claim. Writers who know too little about a team, and make assumptions to sell copies :(

yes definitely worth a punt at that price, no question. - As for Cerci, I don't want him here at any price... nothing more than a poor man's Albert Riera, imo, (and thats being kind to the lad)
