I know it'a over still I cling, I don't know where
As manchester was the first to roll out this pilot scheme, I thought I'd ask, "Do you have an id card?"
I don't know anyone who's got one or plans to get one. And today the government has said they are scrapping airport workers being forced to carry one, and that they never really planned to make them complusory for Joe Public anyway (lying bastards).

A small victory for common sense civil liberties for a change.

Bad news in my opinion.

This would have stopped terrorism instantly as the terrorists ID card would say 'terrorist' and voila!

Bad move by the Government.

Heil Hitler.

They will still work. I'm sure all the terrorists will voluntarily get one and make sure it has 'terrorist' stamped on it to help everyone out.

I think so too, maybe make the ID cards out of the same material that blokes passport was made out of that survived 911.

Maybe you're right..

Let me give you a couple of stats.

3years ago to buy someones identity cost as little as £1

9/11 was funded by a fraud, costing the tax payer ONLY £390K

Most banks/mortgage lenders are not able to 'review' more than 5% of all mortgage/loan applications.

Fraud is HUGE

OK, your civil liabities are being attacked, but what would you prefer? ID cards are not Infallible, but certainly better than a passport. Trust me on this one, they're NOT

I'm not actually opposed to the idea of ID cards (probably because I've had to carry one for over 20 years), however the cost of the project is absolutely disgusting. One more thing... a Labour government forcing it through & the Tories opposing it??? You Socialists must be in right turmoil over this one ;-)
