we do qualify for the knockout stages... please Roberto, play our best full backs at your disposal. You know they can defend, but surely, you must admit that they offer so much more to our out attacking threat, especially Micah. And please Villarreal... get at least one point in the group stages, meaning a win for us puts us through. That is all I ask.

Even you have to understand they cant play 3 games in a week when you have good fullbakcs in kolorov and zableta. not against an inform new castle side and liverpool away.

PL is our primary target.

PS.
its to easy to just blame Mancini for EVERY lost game.

We could (should) have played AK and Zab against the Geordies, then play Gael and Micah tonight and next sunday before reverting to tonight's pairing at the Emirates next week.

Totally disagree. It is no coincidence that our worst results are in this competition. We have to play our BEST full backs in important games.

-- Tue Nov 22, 2011 10:15 pm --

Well; I was at the game on saturday and it was obvious to me at HT that we would have managed with tonight's pairing. Tonight was the crunch game as a win would not only have seen us qualify but would also have helped our UEFA coefficient re. the draw for next season's competition (hopefully!). Ah well; hopefully Bob will learn from tonight for next season.

Not really hindsight because most people would have said the same before the game.If he had to rest them Newcastle was the obvious game to do so.They had just had 2 weeks off though so does anybody really think Clichy would not have covered more ground and not got back quicker than Kolorov tonight.Oh and talking of needing a rest but playing every game Yaya anyone?

Is it seriously being suggested that Micah, who scored one himself and won the penalty that made the game safe, shouldn't have played on Saturday?
