if hughes is fired/resigns...

and mourinho or hiddink arent interested who would we have.
i have to say it would be a bit knee jerk to get rid of hughes without a replacement ready.

The owners arene't stupid, if they sack hughes we will have a new manger in place within 12 hours, they will already be working on it.

i have played pro evo for years and would be good for morale in the changing rooms. Can i have job as assistant manager im taller than bowen and speak abit clearer.

Shit idea. We aren't going to be relegated so let's just get a long-term replacement lined up for next season.
But if Hiddink is available, this season can be salvaged And he wont be available for long.

The next appointment has to be a proven League title winner
I wouldn't trust Hiddink as he's too close to that crook Abramovich.

Mourinho?
Hiddink?
Mancini?
Rijkaard?

There are options... so i say if we exit the cup in mid-week, and put in a poor display and lose to Chelsea at the weekend, then we should get rid of Hughes, he's had a fair crack of the whip... now its time for him to go.
(as its a pretty much dead cert we will lose our next two games!)

Should we lose to Arse and Chels, I think he's going to be in a very tough spot. Arsenal, Pool, Villa have likely wins next week so that league table could look horrible. We could be in 8th behind sunderland.

Chelsea will expose every weakness we have ruthlessly.

i dont think there would be a shortage of top class applicants for the post

I think there would be a shortage of top class applicants, because anyone any good is already employed & the incentive to take on a club these days is either heritage or champs league football & we've got neither...we're unproven...FACT!

What about me?

I took Oxford United from the conference to win the CL and League double not just once but TWICE. Think about it. Also playing the new football manager i came second and won the the league the next season.

Quite honestly my opinion of the forum has dropped recently.

You are all whacking out two big names without knowing a thing to do with what you are talking about. I wouldn't mind everybody chasing Jose so much, but Hiddink? Fucking Hiddink?
He's shit. He won fuck all at Fenerbache, fuck all at Valencia, fuck all with Real Madrid, fuck all with Real Betis, fuck all with Holland, fuck all with South Korea and fuck all with Australia.

The ONLY place he has ever done well is in Holland.

Remember that big palava with the Dutch teams around Euro '96/World Cup '98 with the players walking out and refusing to play, and even picking their own team? Hiddink was manager.

Remember when Russia's manager was undermined as he told them to do one thing, and Arshavin told them to do something completely different, and they went with Arshavin's plan? That was Hiddink too.

He got sacked from Madrid for taking a team that was top of the league, and winning fuck all with them. He got sacked from Betis for taking a team that was around the upper midtable spots to a relegation.

The only thing he is really known for here, is taking South Korea to fourth in the WC, which was actually in SK while everybody else was physically knackered due to the climate.

Oh, and taking one of the greatest teams in World Football in Chelsea to an FA Cup.

If we are going to get a proper 'winner' in, then for fucks sakes, get somebody who has consistently won stuff at club level. Hiddink has never done anything but shite outside of Holland.

Oh dear the voice of reason, I have to agree with all the above.

Given the talented players in our squad, I think that many of us are left thinkling "ANYONE" could do as well (badly?) as we are doing now - worst case scenario, we stay at the same level - *Anyone* would be an improvement!

To use a stock market analogy, give me 25 of the best stocks in the country, make me select 11, and I will put togeher a pretty damn good portfolio - maybe not as good as Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, but pretty damn good all the same, if you get my point.

Any replacement for MH would have to come from outside the UK - look at the premiership and some of the possible alternatives:

Chelsea - Ancellotti - no chance
Scum - Fergiscum - excuse me whilst I vomit
Spuds - bent 'arry - no chance - wouldn't want him anyway.
Red Dippers - fat Spanish waiter - no thanks - could be on his way out, anyway.
Villa - Martin O'neil - yes please!
Sunderland - Steve Rag Bruce - pass me the sick bag, please
Stoke - Pulis - OMG they play even worse football than we do!
