Beating Liverpool in the semi is impossible, seen as though we play them in the quarter finalbeating liverpool in the semi is more important that anything for me. Would be nice to go on and win the CL after that, but if Liverpool win the CL this year the british media will forget whatever City achieve and it will be a year remembered for Liverpool.
This all day longNo chance.
Losing to Liverpool whether some disagree, it will be be seen as a failure in our season.
This City team is being put on a throne as one of the greatest sides in English football history, if that is to be it can’t be knocked out by a team 20 points behind us in 3rd place.
And you call yourself trublue...
This team could easily win the next 5 and settle a lot of scores.
Definitely not. The league is done and dusted, barring some Devon Loch-style collapse. We should be focussing on putting in a big ("massive", even!) effort into the CL.
I think we need to beat Liverpool. The chance to win the Champions League should never be passed on.
I can’t get beyond that first game at Anfield. Get through that in a good position then who knows?I rate this as good a chance as last time, or slightly better, but i will need some convincing that from here on in, the whistle in the CL will not be blown with strict impartiality.
Extraordinary idea for a thread. Parallel universe thinking. Football just doesn't work like that, and everybody knows it.
If Liverpool win it then fair play to them regardless of what the media get up to they would probably deserve it. We have a chance to stop them over two games and with reasonable luck if we are good enough we will. If we fall short we still will have enjoyed a great season and look towards continuing in the same vein next season.beating liverpool in the semi is more important that anyshorthing for me.
