If Pep retired tomorrow...

It depends of what direction wants City to develop as a club. I believe it is the Guardiola way they want to follow so the new coach must be from Guardiola's school of thought. That excludes almost all names mentioned in this thread except Thomas Tuchel. In Germany Julian Nagelsmann also is following the "Pep way"..
Barcelona usualy hires not the most famous managers but that kind of managers that are ready to follow their way of playing, so i guess City will do the same..
In 3 years time Mikel Arteta will be probably ready to manage on his own...

The family man. It's criminal that he has been overlooked for the big jobs.

Up against a leaking defence? He'd have us slip in, unnoticed.

A parked bus? Smash the back doors in.

Arsey reporters? Super injunction.

Sorted.

None of you racist bastards are up for employing john Barnes, Paul Ince, or Dwight Yorke then?
Racist thread.
Racist.

I'm pretty sure anyone suggesting Simeone has never watched Atletico outside of a Champions League semi or final.

He's the antithesis of what CFG want to promote, and 90% of their games against teams outside the top 4 are boring as fuck.

Simeone's achievement in Spanish football is nothing short of a miracle - all achieved on a shoestring budget.
His achievement in the Champions League over the last few seasons is equally remarkable.

His teams are hard working, organized, direct and effective.
It's possible that 'what the CFG want to promote' and what the first team needs are not mutually exclusive.

I'm a huge fan of Simeone.
If Pep can't cope with the pressure in England and wants to fuck off at the end of the season we should make sure we get Simeone.

It's a win win situation for us; if Pep succeeds - great; if Pep fails - let's get Simeone and press on.

Sooner the better. Get Mancini back.........proper exciting football....

Simeone is the exact opposite of everything Khaldoon says we want in football, and the complete opposite of Txiki's style. His record is built on scoring 1 and defending for your life (they scored one or fewer goals in 18 league games last season), the opposite of what we've heard the owners want. Sorry but if you think he'd ever come here you don't have a clue. It's as likely as Mourinho succeeding Pep.

And his shoestring budget (at the 15th richest club in the world) has allowed him to spend €335,000,000 gross on transfers in the last 3 seasons.

He is the best defensive manager in the world, and achieved an incredible league win (although lucky that the other 2 were in their worst league seasons in recent memory) but he is a boring manager, and his approach will only ever work at underdog clubs, and our upper management aren't interested in grinding out 1-0 wins against the bottom half of the table.
