If the rot continues what happens ?

Anyone who thinks Pep would be sacked is absolutely deluded. The season is already gone and bringing in a new manager at this point wouldnt change the fact that too many of our players are absolutely washed up.
They loved him after 8 great years but want him gone after 8 bad weeks.

That’s not support, that’s entitlement.

In answer to the OP, relegated and out of CL and FA Cup, but then possibly winning the Club WC.
But reality is we can’t continue like this, we need 2x full backs, at least 1x Centre Half(because the rest are always injured) at least 2x DM (no need to discuss why) 2x younger Midfielders, 1x Centre forward or 2 if the big lad walks, and a winger who can cross. Plus some players with balls & bottle to slap the rest of the team.
Sell Lewis, Grealish, Walker, Gundogan, Nunes. I think KDB & Silva will walk.

1, this team is running on empty physically and mentally

2, Pep is running on empty physically and mentally

3, The management seem to have let things slip

4, Something has to be going on in the background, it's doesn't a happy ship since head groundsman and kit man left. Sounds silly I know but perhaps the players could let of steam to him etc....who knows.

5, Seem reluctant to use the academy kids.

6, this is the first real 'crisis' this present management team of our club have had to deal with on the pitch.

7, Why are the players constantly injured, have we changed the medical team.

8, we hear lots of other clubs head hunting our staff, have we replaced them to thr same standards, we haven't on the pitch !

Interesting times ahead

bullshit.
de bruyne was the best potential for his age,we took the gamble and it paid off, best player Iv ever seen at City.but became world class after his move to us,same as Aguero,David etc

Conveniently dodging Haaland there. Back to Debruyne. He was the best player in Germany and his goal contribution stats were on a par with Messi and Ronaldo that season. Bayern lost their shit because he signed for us instead of them. How is that not buying a top tier footballer? Basically like saying if Madrid brought Palmer in Jan and implying they were buying a potentially world class player. No, they would be buying one of the best players out there.

As for David Silva, my god. He was recognised as one of the best players from a golden generation when we signed him. He was a key player in Spain winning the Euros two years earlier.

You are talking guff and you know you are.

guff off too

the biggest fact in our current history is how we got David,Barca and madrid didn't want him or try,he went under their radar. It was a masterstroke, but carry on.

Sometimes in life things don't go as you'd have planned. I'm sitting here in Birmingham New St looking down at my beers for the journey home...... tough gig eh......we've had far worse times.
MCFC OK

True. But what is also true is that we’ve had also far better …… and how we get back to those times looks a very distant journey right now

This can't be true. If he has lost the players, he has no choice but to fall on his sword. There's no coming back from it, we're not sacking all the players.

It's interesting to watch him at the moment. This would be a completely foreign feeling for him as a manager and he looks a tad bewildered by it all.

Personally I think some of his decisions have been absolutely maddening but there is no getting around the fact that our squad is currently mostly made up of players who are either

1) Too old
2) Too injured
Or
3) Newer players who arent of the required standard

I don't think it's anything that can be fixed before the end of the season. I can't imagine anyone else getting much of a tune out of Walker, Gundogan etc.

Then we have players like Bernardo who have been trying to leave for two or three summers now. It's all well and good that he didn't try to force a move when Barca have clearly been low balling us, but I just think mentally he's lost some of his hunger and he needs a change of scene.

Pep is partially to blame for us being in this situation along with the senior management team at the club but the damage has been done now. An undignified sacking for someone who has achieved so much at the club will achieve nothing other than bring more negativity on the club.

We have to suck up the fact we will win nothing this season and start planning for the next. Pep has shown he can rebuild and evolve teams in past so he will probably be given the chance to do two more years and oversee that rebuild. Or he walks and lets someone else have a crack at it. I actually don't really mind which of those things happens, the most important is that we get our player recruitment back on track and we are bold with it.
