If the rot continues what happens ?

Maybe, maybe not.

Doesn't tarnish the (I honestly lose count these days, happy to he corrected) 16ish trophies won, the centurions season, the domestic quadruple, the treble, the 4 in a row plus two new trophies, back to back titles before that, the football played, the defence of the club through uefa/cas cases, through the 115, and just the general last decade.

I'm sorry, it just does not.

If it does for you, than that's a damn shame and highly unfortunate. For your own sake pal.
It doesn't tarnish what he's achieved already.

The season is on the edge right now. It could collapse even further and let's say we are 8th in May and Pep walks. We can all get misty eyed about memories in the past but this season and it's collapse will be right at the front of our memories, that's just how it goes.

Now where did I put that razor blade?

How do we know it won't be?

There is no instant solution but as it stands, he's not trying any possibilities.
we can never be sure, however good players returning and batter players recruited usually make a difference, the better the player recruited the more the difference

Those that are out other than Rodri are persistent sick notes so Pep can't be just brushing off the form as it being unlucky because Ake and Stones are normally so reliable and it's unusual to be missing them.

He's doing a good job tarnishing his own legacy. Shit performance after shit performance. Extreme stubbornness and refusal to change.

I was responding in the context of the initial post above.

Re your last point. I'm ok taking that risk, come what may.

If we suffer for a bit and then recover, I will take the pain during that time. If we suffer and it all ends up in a collapse, I will learn to live with the disappointment. Till we are back up there.

In the meantime, I WILL remain misty eyed about the (very recent) past achievements, and nobody can take that away from me.

Stating the obvious here, but the most important thing is that we win the PL case. We could be top of the PL & CL table having won all our games buy it would matter not a jot if we lose. If we win we can start the rebuild from a position of relative strength.

Tell that to the owners , fans aren’t entitled the standards have just been raised and especially been raised by our owners. Khaldoon saying 5 in a row , Soriano saying he expects a trophy each season and for us to be the biggest brand /club in football. Expects us to challenge for the league each season

You can’t say we can not become entitled when the standards have been raised interviews are coming out from the people on the board. Expecting trophies. Those interviews which are seen by fans of the club. The fans are going to expect those standards if the top people are expecting those standards.

I don’t mind having a transitional season. I’ve seen worse seasons than this supporting city, But there will be a group of people not just fans but board members that feel entitled to win the league / trophy each season as those are their standards

From Soriano himself when he first came in

“I would say I want to win five trophies in the next five years," said Soriano.
"That may mean we win no trophies one year and two in another, but on average I want one trophy or title a year."
I’ve had enough of Soriano to be honest. He seems more interested in making shows for kids and ripping off fans.

“For Manchester City the objective is to win and to be financially sustainable. It’s not to make an extraordinary profit every year. We have to assume this has ups and downs”

Ferran Soriano, after the window shut this year.

They pretty much knew they were rolling the dice going off that quote.
