Mad to think that prior to that, we went 29 years without a single semi-final appearance. Getting to the last four of a major trophy was a pipe dream for my generation growing up watching City!

Agreed and thats why we do need to put the defeat at Sunderland into perspective.

We started the weekend 6 points behind the leaders Arsenal, and at the end of the weekend we are still six points behind with an away bogey team put behind us.

Fortunately Arsenal, Spuds lost and Chelseki only managed a draw at home to WBA.

We will be back to our best against Spuds as players like Yaya will be up for a game like that, unlike when he has to play lesser teams, then on here everyone will be talking about can we win the league by Easter, thats how it seems to go.

It is amazing given clubs playing weakened sides in the CC that we didn't at least make one semi final in either cup from 1981-2010.

29 years without a semi final. Shocking.

We could do with a trophy this year and this cup offers a decent opportunity.

Getting into the Premier League seemed a pipe dream for a while! Fuck it, scoring a home goal was a pipe dream under Pearce.......
Getting a(nother!) away win under Pellegrini is a pipe dream for us now!

It's a bit of a shame that the FA cup semis were at wembley. Would have been great to have a couple of the good old neutral ground games

Biggest ground is the swamp; do we want to go there for a semi-final?
Next is Emirates; so it's the same distance as Wembley but 30,000 fewer seats. I won't miss out, but quite a few thousand will.
After that you're down to Villa Park, Hillsborough, Goodison and Klanfield with a huge drop in tickets.
One of my all time favourite memories is standing on the Holte End in '81 watching the second half of extra time with one eye on the pitch and the other on my watch, and then a mass party leaving the ground and walking down Witton Lane. But the FA ballsed up the Wembley rebuild and need the money from semi-finals.
