If we turned out a team like Liverpool's in the FA Cup...

We could rest 11 players , and still play a team of internationals , comparing the dippers squad to ours is unfair , they are a club that used to be good ten years ago , they are not now , but they retain their massive asian/irish/scandanavian/wank support and have a few ex players pundits keeping their high profile in the premier league. Klopp will not be there next season , he will not hack the premier league and the lack of investment from the klanfield wank owners.
Sorry Couldn't resist

You cannot be defending Liverpool surely? Of course you can compare their squad with ours. Liverpool have a huge squad of full internationals. They spent £72M in the summer (and got England regular James Milner on a free), £117M the summer before and £45M the year before that. They've had a few injuries. Haven't we all.

Yes, but what about the question Colin asked???

Proper answer, it is not something i can give a broad answer about.
As others have noted it depends on how we are in the league, the cl etc. How strong the squad is with injuries and how well we are playing.

Right now i think it could be a boost to the squad, to see desire and hunger, something seemingly lacking of late.
That said we could lose and it be the catalyst to a shit run of results.
On principle the young lads deserve it but being pragmatic, the main players need to click sooner or later and drilling them in competitive games could be a catalyst to a good run.
Or they will not click and deepen the apathetic mentality that we seem to have in the squad atm. Or vice versa with the lot of the above.

Fuck it, stick the kids in, we are not going anywhere for years so will be right in it in all cups for the foreseeable future.

Can someone tell me who that Lallana player was that Murphy was on about? He said it was a creative, goal scoring player. I have no fucking idea who the Scouse **** was on about.

If we played a similar team and even drew with norwich 2-2 , i guarantee the post match won't ask 'your young lads didn't let you down today'

If we did, and we were playing someone like Exeter it'd look like this comparatively.

Caballero - Angelino, Adarabioyo, Sagna, Maffeo - Barker Bryan Celina Roberts - Kelechi Aguero..

That's a very strong young team. (reserve keeper, experienced fullback at cb, first choice striker is what Liverpool did).... and i'd be fine with that v Exeter, as it'd win. I agree re the FA Cup, but EVERY Carling Cup team should be similar - i.e 3/4 senior players at most, the rest kids - if we want to look after the future of our academy players its the best way to be. And it'd surprise a few too when we unearthed a few stars....

Are you going tomorrow?

If we ever wanted to name a very young team in the Carling Cup we could name something like this...posted it on twitter earlier -

(In before 'where's Manu Garcia?' etc - this was just me picking a team based on form from the EDS players etc so ignore the actual selection, more the idea - plus, no 'but he's on loan!' - its hypothetical)

I'd have a lot of respect for any manager who wanted to use the Carling Cup in this way. That's a strong, young team. One that'd surprise a few, and itd be a very worthwhile learning experience. I'd be fine with a few senior players thrown in for good measure.
