If/ When we win a trophy..

True true.. BUT those stars mean nothing at the moment, we should re-design it when we win our next trophy, to signify it.

To be honest, I'd wish we'd re-design the whole thing, or go back to the old one - it's awful looking and, even worse, the stars and the bird actually mean NOTHING.

If that is the official rationale given by the Club then fair enough (although IMO, it still looks sh*te).

My recollection from the time was the reasons given for the Eagle/Phoenix and the Stars was "to give it a more continental feel".

Don't see why we'd need to incorporate a "rising from the ashes" theme anyway - we didn't go bust and had to start again. We spent ONE season in the 3rd Division - within 2 years we were back in the Top Division! I think we need to remember our serious history of success a bit more, and stop dwelling on THAT season so much.

If we don't take ourselves seriously, why should anyone else?

Having done some research on the companies time, the bird is an Eagle, and is from the 1957 Manchester Crest(?). So fair enough (although I still don't like the design). The Stars, as I think we all know, are for the "continental feel"...

We don't need 'M.C.F.C when we already have the name of the club around the outside IMO. Maybe where it says M.C.F.C it could say '1894' ?

To remove any of the stars would give the rag media a field day. Leave them on as it wont belong before we are having to add more a anyway.

I agree, I'd also like to see the manchester bee in there somewhere aswell.
