If? When?

I wind my rag mate up telling him 3 yrs from May we could have as many CLs as you do. Winning one has proved hard enough let alone 3 on the bounce but we’re the favourites this year and barring a seismic shift we’ll be favourites next year and the year after too. Stranger things have happened.
I like that. Another 13 years we could have more domestic titles too but I'm looking a bit too far ahead. As you say...stranger things. The recruitment seems to be getting better & better.

Reminded me of this...

Dance like a psycho, a sight like nothing on earth
Keep a wide berth from anyone you might know
So no first night nerves, all first serves
All aces, straight home bases
Sweating like a pig doing a jig at the gig of the century
Because we'll never be
Told by the old school, sold the old rules
Mad and bad to know, though we're not fools
Downbeats down to earth, you down with me?
Clownin' 'round the town, step easy
Cookin' up new tricks, lookin' for a new kick
Found a new sound, found that it sticks
Where is that from? I enjoyed that.

This thread has the ability to become very Raggy very quickly.

I think humility is a vastly underrated trait amongst football fans…especially those who support a team doing very well at the moment.

Having lived through “the dark years,” it would be very easy to become glib and arrogant over the Mansour era to date, and extrapolate it out in away that greatly overstated ACTUAL achievements to date.

Like Pep, I like to enjoy the performances. From excellent performances victories and glory often develop. One step at a time.
well said. when Chelsea and arsenal are playing in europe i instinctively cheer them on - generally speaking their fans are modest and not entitled like you know who. i’d like to think we retain an air of gratefulness and appreciation, plus respect for the opposition

so lets be careful the op’s thoughts do not become the norm.

i always think back to man united 4-3 man city in 2009 (?). United last minute winner of a great great game, one of the premier league’s best ever i would say. Afterwards what does prime dickhead uppity scot Darren Fletcher say in his interview “We’re Man United thats what WE do” in a bitter nasty tone, very much making out United are better than city.

A year later after being pumped 6-1 what does Mancini say post match ? “No no we are only just beginning, united are a great club great champions we have not acheived anything, this is only one game”

We have class and long may it continue

Things are looking so perfect now that it’s hard not to get ahead of yourself. Being realistic, even the most anti City pundit would probably say we might well win 5 PLs and 2 CLs in the next decade

With a sampled long start, which comes from a preacher from the 80's/90's US 'Moral majority' - aka MAGA for the pre-millenials.

Edit: excellent to bop to in an indie club in the 90's

Let me get home and listen properly,

Defenitley has that house intro quality tad Irvine Welschish.

Thanks!
It's probably my favourite band - Pop Will Eat Itself.
They've been going on/off since 1986 - the original main lead singer Clint Mansell now does film scores - eg Requiem for a Dream.
