An evo's quicker but something like this requires talent to drive it properly. 'The Japanese Ferrari'. You can get these for £5 or 6k these days, but they're all 15 to 20 years old now and the rotary powerplant is basically a street legal race engine, so they're Ferrari-ish money to run and maintain, even if you can put a spanner on it yourself. One day...

pffft...mazda's shite wankel rotary engines.....if you touch the accelerator at start up you have to go through a 10minute purge cycle to start the thing again
