Have a mate who has a supercar and he once told me that it's pointless buying one unless your going to pay someone to show you how to drive it correctly or you'll end up crashing it! Also you cant give any of it away or the recipient will be deducted 50% as its a cash gift and subject to taxation. Not that I've looked into it at all, lol.
For me I'd buy a decent car, something like an M5 (pointless buying something more, £1m wont last long as is) then I'd build a house with a £200k budget (should build a nice house for that) the rest would be saved in an account I couldnt touch for 12 months. But hey thats just me.

nice car i.e brand spankin audi a3, maybe a plush flat somewhere, put £500,000 in2 a bank and save it 4 a rainy day.

i would go to jamaica get stoned, sniffed and pissed up, come home and treat the family, box at city and book the barmy army trip to south africa over christmas and watch nothing but cricket for 39 days.

Box at City, Audi Q7, Audi R7, all the City clothing I wanted, surgery to heal my mum's bad back (if possible), bungalow for myself, all the new trainers I like, a fancy holiday somewhere, take me and my dad to Las Vegas after a quick trip to NYC, go on a tour of SA, NZ and AUS, buy a share in a business for future earnings.

Shop around mate there out there! You just have to look where you wouldnt normaly and speak to the banks directly. If you have the dosh you get the better rates. So I'm told....
