So I’d get the train from London out to another town and watch the football club from there instead. Brighton, Ipswich or Cambridge, somewhere far enough away from London where they don’t have that repulsive accent.

As for West Ham; one post-match love-in after our relegation in 1987 shouldn't overshadow the fun and games we endured as visiting supporters before and after many other games at Upton Park. - Having said that, all West Ham fans I've spoken to at the Etihad have been OK.

QPR, super 'oops are a bit shit but have always had relatively laid back fans.

To put it into context, here's a (semi joking) breakdown of the fan demographics for some of the London teams.

Arsenal - a mix of Public School types mixed in with Fam-Bluds from the 'hood'. All have ADHD.

Brentford - posh but not Fulham posh. Liked by most other fans.

Millwall - everybody hates them and they don't care. Mostly because they are fascist scum. Playing West Ham gets a bit 'lively'.

Chelsea - if the Reform Party was a football club.

Crystal Palace - actual football fans that most other London clubs' supporters forget are in London so they end up with a rivalry against Brighton.

Fulham - will watch the football because Polo season has finished and the Six Nations hasn't started yet.

Tottenham - because your bloody dad decided to support these and you're stuck with it. Banter club for all the other London teams. 'Useful Idiots' for their uncanny ability to be able to take points off Manchester City.

West Ham - because you're a black cab driver. Salt of the earth Cockney types. Tend to hound out successful managers who don't play the 'West Ham way' and their replacement gets sacked 3 months later for playing pretty football but getting smashed every week. They then bring in a Haram Ball specialist to keep them up and the cycle repeats.

Leyton Orient - for when West Ham isn't quite Cockney enough.

Manchester United. The biggest club in London.

Good test of who's a pre-Shiehk fan that 1. Millwall are well known for being the biggest cunts in the UK. They don't goto watch football, they go to have a fight or abuse oppo fans.

Hadley FC without a doubt. Founded in 1882 and the oldest football club playing in Barnet! They are currently in The Southern Football League Division One Central. I lived and worked in London in the 80’s for a few years and played for them as a defensive midfielder. I’m fairly certain Gerry Gow was a fan and modelled his silky skills on how I tried to play :) Hadley have come on a bit since I was there though but happy memories particularly of when I could still track back.

It's not the same club any more. That was nearly 30 years ago now. The people running it have made a lot of effort to turn it into a family friendly place over many years.

You still get a small coterie of bell ends but that's the same at any club.
