If you think you're paying too much for your ale....

If i got to Ireland it is to crash at Jims gaff and take his advice on where to booze.
6 times mates have gone and 6 times they have really had a go at the prices, as in it was the main talking point of their hols.

Dublin is a great place but Temple Bar really is the epitome of tourist trap super rip off.
The only decent thing about the place is the Thai restaurant right at the top end.
Ireland has many places which are far superior to Dublin but the Irish really have kissed the Blarney Stone
when it comes to Temple Bar.

My Irish mates over here tell me that they all piss on that stone.
£1.99 or less any pint @The Bricklayers near Failsworth Tram Station with plenty of bog trotters to boot in the area !

Is that near the old railway station?

They aint giving it away but if you went to the capital of every Western European country and headed for the trendiest bar, £5.89 would probably seem like a bargain in most countries.

I've paid that in the Northern Quarter.

Yup. Went to Amsterdam last year and it was €6 plus pretty much everywhere. And the glasses are 500ml steins.

Never heard of that in the northern quarter tho.. they must have seen you coming!

Yeah it's a tram station now. Looks well for it.

Went to Dublin a few years ago and the first bar I walked into in Temple Bar I paid 28 Euros for 4 bottles of Bulmers

Try Perth in WA ,my mate was over the other month and said it's the equivalent of seven quid.
That's not in a flash boozer either,in comparison it's about three fifty in Sydney.

Its in the middle of a castle that has people walking through and kissing the Blarney Stone all day - I genuinely doubt that they'd do that somehow ;-)

They're not lying mate. Wouldn't go near temple bar, not one of the top 10 pubs in Dublin are there. Mind you, not one of the top 50 in the country are in Dublin.
