I would play for a Premier League bottom-third team and be a huge fish in a tiny pond. A talismanic one club hero, like Le Tissier, who just strolls out each week to God-like adulation and wins goal of the month every month. Half the boys born in the town during my era would be named after me, and I would never have to get my wallet out in the pubs round town despite my wages consisting of half the overall annual expenditure of the club.

Start my career at Bordeax
Get noticed and get a transfer to Sevilla
Do well there and join the revution at Borussia Dortmund where I think they'll be a top top club in about 5 years without really spending any money until £40m on me!
Then a transfer to City as they start to become a really top club after a few years of over-spending/blowing MILLIONS and not really amounting to anything. With Mourinho as manager and me as the experienced top quality attacking midfielder.

I´d start my career with Ajax, move over to bundesliga soon after to a no-nonsense club, Schalke perhaps?...Not a flash one for sure.
