If you were Villa Manager, how would you play against us?

I see them packing it in a bit and using Agbon, Milner, and Young on the counter. Might work well for them too if we don't have it together in the back.

Any early team news?

If I was them I'd kick the ball around a bit, run around a lot and then try to score into our goal but all the time making sure not to allow us the hance to score into their goal, especially with the ball at feet or via another method. It's about possession and skill and passion but chiefly amongst these are possession, skill and passion. The important thing about winning in this game is the 3 points and the victory won't be a victory without them. But the celebrations of goals will also be vital. Whoever scores them should celebrate them but if their team scores then other players on their team should and could celebrate too, as well as the fans, and likewise City but only if we score. So I say they should try to play football against us on the pitch and see what happens when the ref blows for time - whoever's ahead should win it - unless there is a draw which can be decided by the ref when counting goals scored if any.

Alan Ball is alive and well

Some fucking chump on one of the Villa forums was suggesting they play Milner and Warnock as wingbacks.

Most of their fans are fucking clueless. Half the ones I work with have only just started supporting them now that they're doing okay.

They hate to be reminded of how empty their ground was three or four seasons ago.

I'd attack us down the wings , especially against Zabaleta ( fairly slow player) or Richards ( jogs back when he goes forward) and i'd sling in crosses against a keeper who's suspect to crosses & a centre half partnership that is still coming to terms with playing together .
How they defend against us is quite another matter

I think id just cry in front of the lads and tell them City are holding my kids to ransom.

I think the game will be won and lost by the full backs. If our full backs can stop their wingers getting crosses in then we have a great chance. If our wingers don't track back well then the opposing full-back could overlap and cross the ball. On the other hand if our fullbacks get a chance to go forward we could force their winger back. This is definitely not a game for Richards and his jogging back. I think Hughes will play SWP on the right and Bellers on the left because they are good at tracking back. Wayne Bridge could be the key man for us because he's good at going forward but sometimes weak in defence.

If I were MON I'd be ordering their wingers to run at our fullbacks at every chance. Zabba dives in quite a lot and an early booking will make it hard for him.

Mr Hughes must have been reading :-)
