Iheanacho or Nasri for CL squad?

If both were fit now and the decision was still to be made, I would plump for Nasri, purely for his experience at this level. I think this season might be too soon for Nacho, but he will get plenty of other opportunities in years to come.

But they are not both fit, so I think Nacho is the right call at this point in time

Shouldn't even be a question. Why does the decision need to be left until late? Are the extra days/weeks going to make a difference on when Nasri will be back? Not only that, it doesn't give Kelechi any confidence does it. The lads performed in every little bit of playing time he's been given and yet him saying they'll leave it to the last minute suggests the manager still doesn't think he's deserving of a place in the champions league squad ahead of somebody that's missed 2- months already and will miss another 2-3 months.

Pellegrini not telling the press what he's going to do is going to affect Kelechi's confidence? Christ on a bike!

Same here. Our 2 forwards are a bit injury prone and we have plenty of cover in midfield.

Nacho man!

The collective amnesia about Nasri's performances are alarming.

Nasri's injury is apparently healing faster than expected, and he's targetting the March international break.

That means Nasri will be fit for the 1/4 finals onwards. Which makes the decision much harder than if he'd stuck to his original schedule and missed 1/4's and semi's.

Very difficult decision to make.
I'd go with who we've got fit now. A bird in the hand and all that........

If both fit, then Samir no brainer for his experience. Sadly not the case, so Nacho gets the nod from me.

In what sense?

That he slows down our attacking play significantly allowing the opposition to all comfortable get back in place before he does his usual sideways pass. Or his temper getting him sent off or picking up stupid yellows. He doesn't play well under Pellers at all, he doesn't create as much as Sterling or KDB, he doesn't Defend as much as either, he isn't as fast as either... he can pass backwards though, if thats what we're really missing.

Ah right, a good or bad would've sufficed but thanks for explaining.

Maybe, just maybe Pellers has discussed this with the players F2F and he is just keeping stum with the press.

He gets blasted for telling the press who is out injured before a game and now he is getting it for not saying anything. I personally believe he would have spoken to both players already and they are in the know.

Probably a stupid question and I expect the answer is no, but can we leave a spot blank for the round of 16 and decide who to fill it with later should we progress?

Nasri. He's much better suited to CL games where keeping the ball is at a premium. Nacho for all his potential tends to squander possession cheaply in the brief glikmpses we've seen of him.
