Had only a year of contract left - and has an injury history. Without that he would not have been that cheap - but without that he would not have been available this year as Barcelona or Bayern would have really gone for it last season. At that time - it was after he has been out with a back injury for a year and the clubs really were cautious - his uncle and manager is said to have been to greedy in the talks with both clubs.
