Actually would like to see Gundogan, Silva and KDB in the middle and Fernandinho at right back. I love him on the right hand side. It's a total waste having him and Gundogan in the centre because both drop stupidly deep to collect the ball. Negates the point of having Stones if the midfield still need to drop that far back to start an attack. Just think his energy on the right hand side coupled with his overall all round ability would make him an asset and probably give us more balance.

95% pass completion, created 4 chances(that's 4x the amount of Silva and Kev combined in this game), press was decent, kept play ticking over ....Far from a bad game imo

He's been ok so far at best.

Perhaps my expectations were too high after the glowing praise of him on here of being a master at passing and creating chances.

Early days still though.

absolutely nothing like the player we faced in the champions league a few seasons back. dunno whether its injuries or his position but looks a shadow of the player he used to be

I agree - that would be another alternative.

I just think we'd lose a bit of Fernandinho's bite in midfield as Gundogan isn't pressing the ball or winning it back at all.

That's true but i also think Fernandinho's pressing is quite dangerous sometimes because if he sometimes presses without really having a look at what is behind him. I think we shouldn't really even be relying on one man's 'bite' in midfield because we are trying to emulate a system where every single player presses with bite. I'd try it at least because what we currently have isn't really working.

I would have changed him at half time. He wasnt great today in my opinion
