I'm gutted we're losing him, if we are, he's a fantastic player and at only 28 has loads of time in front of him.

I'm beginning to think he will take over from Dihno and Stay. He is a fantastic DM.

All things considered he's excellent for us, but he lacks some important parts of the role and that will ultimately always curtail him. He is essentially a world class central midfielder when played in a 2 - which is where he was playing when he was amazing at Dortmund for so many years.

I would still be looking to buy someone who can do the more rough and ready stuff and be aggressive when you need it. That's why someone like Saul fits so well, because you could put him in David Silva's position tonight, and he would do lovely stuff as an attacking midfielder - create and get you goals -but he will also get back and bring someone down on a break, or take them out just before they get to the box, or shoulder barge them off the ball etc. when Gundogan won't.
 
Good player whose body language suggests to me he feels undervalued and not completely trusted/first choice by the manager
 
KDB and Gundogan ran the game , Merlin although still a great player is not at their standard anymore and that is a really sad thing to admit , much as i love Merlin , he should now be on the bench with Bernardo in the middle and Sane on the wing , its looking like Gundogan will play down his contract so hopefully he stays for another season and let Real have him on a free , its not like we need the transfer fee.
