Sorry but most of that comment is factually untrue.

Sorry, but you saying something is factually untrue without proving it in detail like I did, means absolutely factually nothing to me. I watched, rewatched and looked the game now just to see Gundogan contribution to it in that period and gave you all facts and numbers needed.

It's not really something too important, I rate Gundo and I'm all but his basher, but he was pretty invisible in that first half.

I'm just weighing up whether it's worth going out and getting the stats that show it's wrong when you've clearly got no interest in the truth.

No midfielder or forward on the pitch touched the ball more than Gundogan in the first half or made more forward passes. It is literally not possible to be a passenger in the first half when you are on the ball more than any other player.

Him and that fucking volley. Should have buried it. He played well and has been recently, but I’ve noticed he’s the master of ‘get the ball outside of the box, can’t find a chip so whack it aimlessly towards the goal’. He did it with about 7 minutes left and a free man either side, nearly threw my fucking toys out of the pram.

It's funny how people misremember things in the heat of the game.

"They were running through our midfield at will in the first 25 mins". I just rewatched the game, and was thinking about this comment, because it did feel like the game was madly open, but.... it simply didn't happen. They got through our midfield properly only once - for the first goal.

In fact I looked it up, and between the width of the penalty box (ie the middle of the pitch), Spurs midfielders and forwards only made 5 forward passes in our half during that time.

It might have felt like they got through our midfield constantly, but in reality they had 3 attacks during that period, and 2 came from us giving the ball away at the back, which doesn't give the midfield, Silva or Gundogan any chance.

By the way i don't recommend rewatching the game, it's still shit.
Thanks man. Was going rewatching and respond with the facts. But I do it so often I'm beginning to sound like a broken record. People just remember their bias. This is why rewatching and examining the raw stats are key to mitigating ones bias.

Glad someone else did this. As this was one of the games I had a hard time stomaching a rewatch.

Even if he doesn't sign a new contract, surely the wise decision would be to just keep him for the remainder of his contract anyway considering we may be handed a transfer ban.
