We were more than generous bringing him back considering he was on the slide.

Come on now. Let's keep some perspective. He was being played in a position that he was not suited for but he had to play there. When he's higher up the pitch, he is and was money for us. He knows as well as we do that with Rodri back, and Nico G and Reijnders here now, his playing time was going to be quite limited. He's a legend. He should get all our gratitude, not because we did him a favor, but because he gave us alot of great play and great memories.

Last season doesn't and shouldn't diminish Ilkay at City. Treble winning captain. He decided titles with his performances. One of my all time favorites.

100% agree with this. I still don’t want him start matches this season though.

Not enough respect given for his efforts last season. He was brought back to be the extra man, to do a job filling in, not to play 54 games for us. Yet he stepped up big time in that run in to help secure us CL football. He is another we are losing who regularly stepped up when needed. We used to have a squad full of them, now they're in extremely short supply and we'll miss what he offers us even though I accept he has to go.

That's his job. He's getting paid hundreds of thousands a month.

Certainty more generous of us to bring back a player who can no longer cut it at this level simply because he called Pep because Barca didn't wanna register him and were letting him go.

Still, he'll always be a legend.

No one was slagging Ilkay when he won us the title against Villa. An absolute great for this club.
