bbc report made £7.2m in 5 years, other members 3-5 years in prison.
I think it’s the profiteering rather than the piracy that’s got them in bother. Like fake designer goods, this sort of thing does fund organised crime.Corporate justice over people justice as usual.
In the eyes of the law they are and have been found guilty. Maybe a bit naive here but I'd prefer our underfunded police forces to put murderers, rapists, and nonces behind bars than protect an already corporate rich organisation.
Thank you for that. Changes my perspective on it.I think it’s the profiteering rather than the piracy that’s got them in bother. Like fake designer goods, this sort of thing does fund organised crime.
I can see both sides here.
They're not dodgy streams though, we can all find those on the internet, but at the risk of stuff ending up on your kit, that can do harm. You pay a relatively small fee (compared to what sky/bt want) for not having that risk.Who the fuck is paying money for dodgy streams? There’s loads of them for free.
Absolutely.Corporate justice over people justice as usual.

Well yeah, it's 'profiteering' that's the issue. Still a bollocks sentence when you see some of the sentences for violent offences and people who are actually dangerous to the general public. If someone has been illegally profiteering, fine them enough to take everything they've ever owned.I think it’s the profiteering rather than the piracy that’s got them in bother. Then give them 11 years for that. They also found kiddie porn on one of their computers. Lovely guys eh.

I guess, but if organized crime gangs are going to do something, I'd rather it was ripping off a few games of football and selling a few dodgy Chanel copies than selling drugs or trafficking people.I’d they’re part of an organised crime gang then I’m fine with the book being thrown at them. Which given the numbers involved seems likely.
