Illegal PL streaming - 11 years in prison for "gang" leader.

I guess, but if organized crime gangs are going to do something, I'd rather it was ripping off a few games of football and selling a few dodgy Chanel copies than selling drugs or trafficking people.

Well yeah but it’s not that simple is it. Like with fake handbags it’s not all isolated, these things fund other more serious crimes and 7 million quid seems like a pretty serious operation to me. Not jus two students doing it for beer money and to help out some footy fans is it.

So you're saying that sentences for crimes like forging a handbag or selling illegal Sky boxes are artificially increased because they are assumed to be linked to more serious crimes that for some reason can't be tried on their own merit?

I’m saying when you arrest people who’ve got 7 million quid profit out of handing stolen goods and a load of kiddie porn to boot, you should investigate it as a serious crime yes.

I couldn’t care less whether that’s Sky streams or Dior handbags or blocks of cheese. It’s not about the theft or piracy, it’s about what that money is going towards.

Not sure about illegal streaming, but when it comes to fake goods there is no assumption, it’s well known it’s linked to all sorts of trafficking of drugs, people, arms.as well as child labour. Most of which goes unpunished. So when you buy your fakes, be aware of what you may be supporting.

If few dodgy streams with petty means can generate Millions, imagine the enormity of Sky Sports revenues.

Corporate justice over people justice as usual.

In the eyes of the law they are and have been found guilty. Maybe a bit naive here but I'd prefer our underfunded police forces to put murderers, rapists, and nonces behind bars than protect an already corporate rich organisation.
It was a private prosecution undertaken by Trading Standards officers paid for by the Premier League. It had nothing to do with the cops

First I accept one of the men had kiddy porn on his lap top. That deserves 11 years.
But don't be fooled by all this 'Organised Crime' shite being bandied about by the Trading Standards officers and the Premier League. It was 4 blokes who knew about computers. The so called millions they made, hmmmmm yeh right. How about scrapping the 3pm blockade and showing every match ?
Next season Luton will be playing in front of 11,000 people, the away allocation will likely be 600 and if its not on rip off sky/bt tough, no one sees it, oh sorry, Motd might show 4 minutes of highlights. Wow I'm so excited.
