If you can play the guitar, you can play the uke. same shapes just different key and of course only the top 4 strings. It's like putting a capo on the 5th fret of a guitar.

Ukes are happy instruments :-)

Check this out if you are interested in a Uke...

Well worth a look if you want to have a go

My lad is 16 today and we got him a £20 uke from Dawsons. My other lad is 11 and we got him a red one at the same time. The ukes have been in hiding until all mayhem broke loose today.

The jam night I go to in Londres is rather good and some mates of the person who taught me are looking to start up in Manchester.

It is a really good way to learn and get a bit of practice and it is all free. If you have always wanted to play an instument then the uke is one of the easiest. The jam will be in a pub so plenty of beer to lubricate the vocals. Lots of modern tunes and the odd classic.

No idea about how to post links but this is the face book group <a class="postlink" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/178404935577117/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://www.facebook.com/groups/178404935577117/</a>

It is called Ukulele Wednesdays Manchester.

I am hoping to return to Manc soon so if you can make this a goer then that would be marvellous.
