Im moving to Germany next week

Spent some time in a few countries over the years. You have all the right advice in this thread......get yourself involved, make an effort with the language, embrace the culture etc, etc. Fair play to you for taking the initiative to do it at 18......I'm pretty sure you will look back on it in years to come as the best decision of your life.

SEE YOU IN MUNICH AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER !!!!!!

the football is good, the beer is good (cheap too), the transport is good, the girls are good. you'll love it mate.

I had the very good fortune to become carnally aquianted with a Fraulein in Dortmund , a couple of centuries ago. Everything you've ever seen in those German porn films comes magically and amazingly to fruition.
Happy days, go for it.

Thanks again guys.

Yeah, my German is pretty shabby but I'm determined to get the hang of it. I'd hate to have to speak in English to everyone. Thanks, i am on the whole, very excited but its daunting to leave behind all my friends and family.
Cheers everyone! :)

welcome to my home country! (at least a remote part of it)
Don´t worry, the guys down there also speak a shabby version of german.

the local football club, the FCS, is playing League 3, so at least you can watch some football with a decent fan support at the Ludwigspark.[/quote]
Yeah, i think Kaiserslautern are fairly close as well!

Hope to see you all in munich!

Watched Saarsbrucken v Bayern Munich II last year after Salzburg.
Kinkladze was on loan there before he came to us.

I've been to Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne & Baden Baden. All great places.
Might be helpful to enrol on this site mate. It's a forum mainly populated by ex-pats living in Germany.
