He was quite poor until November last season. It's clear he isn't the physical specimen that many in his sport at his level are. It clearly takes him months to get into full fitness rather than weeks like many others. I thought he was the fattest player in the Prem this time last year. After West Ham away he seemed to really slim down and get into his stride. He'll no doubt do the same this season, and every season.

I think he's world class on his day. Is he unsettled? He didnt seem to celebrate the Villereal winner. Kolo is asking to go to PSG. I thought his comments regarding Silva and Barca were out of order.

Does anyone have a clue what went on with him being omitted from the derby team and then being swapped last minute for De Jong?

We just need to understand that he's a big unit and it takes him around ten minutes after kick off and after half time to get into the zone.

Until then he's splaying the ball all over the shop, after then, he's superb.

Leave the buying, picking and playing of the players to Manciini.

If he thinks any of the players are not up to it, he will drop and sell them.

We can always improve, but what is the point of singling players out.

He's not been needed as much this year in an attacking sense, so alot of his work goes unnoticed, was a bit sluggish to start of but hes been a great anchor in midfield imo
