I'm sorry for another car thread.

Glen, the top one is a CLK(I think) had one of these for a while via work, they are really nice to drive and in the summer with the windows down feels almost cabrioletesque due to the lack of centre strut between the doors, the one I had was a 2.3 diesel and overall was a top motor. It was a bit dodgy in the wet though due to the rear wheel drive, all you had to do was apply a bit of gas on a corner and it was looking to spin, traction control kicked in though.

Ronnie on another note, What was your first, last and best cars mate?

first car was a 1969 MGB GT in grey with a tudor sunroof (reg GFB 798G - how sad is that!) current car is a Volvo V70 which I change every 5 months. favourite car was a Jag XJ6 which the Mrs and kids loved. Most fun was a Vauxhall Carlton 3.0 GSi 24V which was fast as a ferret but looked like a saloon. Also liked the Chrysler 300C which I got when they first came out..........bugger, you shouldn't have got me started!!

Glen, I'll throw my two penneth worth in,
Present car Merc 220 E class and I love it, me and the boss spend alot of time in Scotland touring around and its a joy to drive and got it up to 54 mpg on those long runs( town driving it drops to 38 mph). Got it from Merc m'cr next to the shrine 2 half yr old 17k on the clock payed 18k for it very happy.
Prevous was a merc 270 c class nice sporty number nowt wrong with that either.
Now then I did borrow my mates Lexus 300gl now apart from being a thirsty bastard ( petrol) and hard to find one with low milage against price, it is a vert vert nice car to drive.
ps might be able to lay my hands on a Gibralter double bass pedal?

I'm self employed and am running an A6 at the mo. I had a V70 new in 2003 and had it longer than any other car in my 25 years of driving.
My A6 is being sold to a mate in October and I was thinking of going back to the V70. What's your opinion of this model?

I have a C240 and whilst it is a bit on the thirsty side has served us well for many years now. I can put you in touch with a decent independant merc garage for your services if needed.
