improving i tunes

I would like to improve the sound quality on my laptop, i play all my music through my library in i-tunes but the sound is awful and you only get a crappy eq to choose from, are there any programmes i can download to improve the sound quality without buying external speakers? thanks .

Sound quality in laptops is poor anyway but something like Winamp might help. If you use your laptop mainly at home then the best way to do it is to buy an external soundcard (Creative SoundBlaster) which can be connected via USB, then get a decent set of speakers. I've got some cheapo 5.1 speakers and it's still far better.

Cheers mate, i was thinking something like winamp, but not used it for years, thought they may have been something else out, shall download it , cheers.
