inheriting dross

They have got worse under Hughes management, should he not take any responsibility for that?

And if he can't only get the best out of players he buys, he's not the man for us.

He also inherited some good players and has also purchased some good players, theres no way we should be 18th considering the ability of the players we've got in our squad. Seriously can anyone see us going on a decent run under Hughes because at the moment we seem to be getting worse and worse
 
get a decent striker to play off and that will be a start.

no manager in the premier has a worse to choose from.

benjani and vassell are completely nullyfying any forward movements.

Seriously he's not! Jo is a good player and given a chance he'll show that however it seems his heart isn't in it if you believe the press and Hughes isn't really willing to give him a run of games despite him doing pretty well in the games he's started in albeit only a handful

the 8-1 loss at boro was the culmination of a side in total decline for 4 months.

benjani was a horrible panic signing, and vassell is just horrible.

we have lost petrov, the source of most of our chances, and the midfeld is woefully short of tenacity and leaders.

hughes has made mistakes, but there are mitigating cicumstances, and he deserves a chance to mould a team.
 
Every team has its dross, its upto the manager to get the best out of them players.

You cant honestly say the likes of Wigan or West Brom don't have the same share of dross as we do, yet they beat us quite comfortably.

I know Jo is a good player - he hasnt got the strength or desire to succeed in England.

Was dreadful against Everton and was bullied for the whole half - this from a forward who is what 6ft 3.

Good skills but not good enough for this league.

I honestly think we need to sign premiership players - at least we know they will perform.

And where did that decline start? Well, maybe when Thaksin refused to support Sven? Maybe when Sven didn't get the promised january transfer window funds? Maybe when Thaksin started backstabbing Sven and going behind his back? There isn't a manager who wouldn't have struggled under those conditions.

Mark Hughes has bought seven new players and the club is no longer as turbulent as it was this spring. What are his excuses for managing like crap?

Err, well, maybe that was due to lack of funding, remember? Sven and Tord had a list ready in the beginning of december, but the funding was never there. Frozen funds in Thailand ring any bell?

What are these "mitigating circumstances"? Please tell me...
 
9 out of 10 managers inherit 'dross' as you put it, thats how they get the jiob in the 1st place because the other manager bought poorly however what they dont do is put their head in the sand and hope that the transfer window solves all the problems nor do they have blind faith in players that arent performing(Dunne, Richards, vassell etc) they just get on with it. That is why they are called 'Managers' and not 'Player Buyers'
