So this morning I seen several UK websites saying that City are rumoured to make a £85m bid for Iniesta. They all quoted "Spanish newspapers".
Knowing how there's Madrid and Barcelona papers I thought I'd find out if this was just an attempt from a Madrid paper to distabilize Barcelona.
So, the story goes:
Apparently Marca (Madrid paper!) ran this story: http://www.marca.com/2010/12/15/futbol/equipos/barcelona/1292435298.html
They quote UK Yahoo! as their source, so on we go.
The story they quoted is: http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/news?slug=ro-iniesta121410
Interestingly this story does NOT say that City will attempt to sign Iniesta.
It says: Barca in debt, Barca president has admitted if a crazy offer came in for Iniesta they might possibly theoretically perhaps accept it - Yahoo plucks £85m out of the air and points out City is the only club that could realisticaly afford it!
