yaya toure will leave lets get 18 million shit for brains de jong out. de jong was 4 th choice after senna, diarra and parker

You've just showed yourself to have shit for brains.

I will also politely disagree with calling de Jong shit for brains. He and Dunne were the only players that show any sign of heart. de Jong busted his ass every game for this team and he deserves a shot at the same position next year. Yes, I would rather have Yaya Toure or Senna, but Senna is getting older and until Toure gets here, de Jong is the man for the job. He is the type of player we want representing Manchester City. He is a poor mans Gatusso in that he plays every game as if it were his last and leaves nothing on the field. I wish Gelson Fernandes were a bit better because he is the same way. Plays his heart out when he is on the field but not quite good enough to do it every game in the PL.

In general terms, Spanish technique is far superior to the athleticism that characterizes the English style of play.

The style of play that Barça exhibit week in - week out (redolent of the great Arsenal sides of '98 - '03) is also much in evidence at Sevilla, Valencia and, at times, Real and the lesser clubs like Mallorca and Villarreal.

It's why Spain were unquestionably superior to England at Euro '08, why Spain easily beat Capello's England last year and why Manchester United were completely outclassed last night.

The passing, movement, touch and technique is several levels above the grinding results style of football offered by Chelsea. To compare Chelsea with Barcelona is like trying to compare Sid James with Robert De

Spanish team rnk english team rnk
1 Barca 121.853 Chelsea 118.899 result 1-0
2 Sevilla 100.853 Liverpool 118.899 result 1-1
3 real madrid 78.853 rags 111.899 result 1-2
4 valencia 59.853 arsenal 106.899 result 1-3
5 espanyol 52.853 spurs 55.899 result 1-4
6 Athletico Madrid 41.853 newcastle 54.899 result 1-5
7 osasuna 36.853 middlesboro 48.899 result 1-6
8. getafe 32.853 bolton 37.899 result 1-7
9. zaragoza 31.853 everton 35.899 result 1-8
10. deportivo 26.853 man city 32.899 result 1-9

and if we continue to 20th i am pretty sure we will end up 1-19 so

would appear to be untrue,

It's why Spain were unquestionably superior to England at Euro '08, why Spain easily beat Capello's England last year and why Manchester United were completely outclassed last night.

has more to do with the fact that the england manager has to pick englishmen and has nothing to do with the strength of the teams in those countries. Infact there were even 5 members of the spanish squad playing in the english premiership, the only overseas league to be represented in the squad. Futhermore im not sure England were even there to be better than.

you may prefer watching barca but the analogy doesnt hold up, Chelsea were certainly not outplayed by chelsea and as the second ranked team in europe i feel you are doing the a great disservice.

What is indisputable is that the premier league has a great deal more strength in depth than la liga.

Iniesta is better than Ronaldo for me. No bias. I think Ronaldo is all about hype. He is a class player no doubt about it, but he has poor games and comes up with match winning goals what makes him a special player. His seasons are always overated even though he does manage to score bags of goals. Iniesta and Xavi are underated players and have more impact throughout whole games and whole seasons than Ronaldo does.
Tell me when Xavi has actually had a poor and quiet game? What about Iniesta aswell?
I cannot think back to when they both had really poor games. Ronaldo has a really poor game 1 in 2 or 3.

Iniesta is the 2nd best footballer in the world for me. No way would he leave Barcelona.
If he played for us at some stage in his career, prefably before 30, that would be absolutely amazing. His football brain is astonishing.

Coaching methods, techniques, styles and ideology would have to undergo a radical and fundamental change from the grass roots level up here in England/United Kingdom before we could produce players of that type. Ireland is a great player and I worship the man, but Iniesta is a different creature all together, as to is Xavi.

Ironically, the Premiere League's greatest asset (the entertainment value derived from its unrivalled speed and power) doubles as its greatest weakness as the very basic fundamentals of the game (passing and movement) are neglected. That Barcelona side would have beaten any premier league side in history, even the Arsenal side that went undefeated.

A Barcalona side not as good as the one last night did beat that Arsenal side.

Yup, Arsenal should have given a far better account of themselves in Europe that year, cannot remember how they went out but it was early and with a whimper I think.

Don't agree at all with that. For the past few seasons theirs been 3 English sides in the last 3 of Europe. Barcelona got lucky. Arsenal hammered Villareal while Liverpool played Real Madrid off the park this season. This trophy should of been Chelsea's while I think Liverpool would wipe the floor with them at Anfield.

Holistically speaking the Premiere League produces teams of a higher standard than the La Liga, however, if you put a great Premier League side up against a great La Liga side, 9 times out of 10 the La Liga side will win. Why? Because you can have all the pace, power and aggression in the world and it will not matter because you cannot do anything without the ball.

Regarding Chelsea – Hiddink’s tactical genius was on display for all to see over those two legs, he knew his team didn’t stand a chance of trying to play with Barcelona so he parked the proverbial bus and hoped to hit them on the break. With the benefit of hindsight it seems like a pretty obvious ploy but it was beyond Baconface who is widely regarded as one of the finest tacticians in the game. Hiddink almost pulled it off, but at the end of the day, that didn’t work either and Chelsea LOST.

Chelsea lost, however, they were the far superior side at Stamford Bridge. Drogba missed easy chances to finish the game and the ref was also poor. For the great attacking flair of Barcelona they couldn't break Chelsea down at home and then had 1 shot on goal all game at Stamford Bridge, albeit the winning goal.

Iniesta and Xavi never give the ball away and always look better players when Barcelona are winning. They seem to have a cruise control button. I cannot see either ever leaving, however, if Fabregas isn't as good now he is pretty close and will be soon. Another Spanish midfielder who doesn't give the ball away and is always available.
