From The Guardian today. Unbelievable.

Blackstock says he did not report either incident because he felt it would jeopardise his chances of getting a professional contract. He now works as a driver and a storeman for a double-glazing company and is suing for "distress, pain, humiliation, injury, loss and damage".[/quote

And its took him 20 + years to report, he is lucky he didn't join the Army in the early 80's !!! Pussy.

Why? What happened in the army in the 80s?

Anyone who was an apprentice in those days faced similar so called initiation ceremonies in most industries.Nobody except a few bullies liked them and most felt uncomfortable watching them, but you couldn't speak out or report them or your life would have been made a misery and you would have had to leave the job.

Good luck to this guy i hope he wins his case!

This sort of thing happened all the time in industry.

Good job this lad wasn't an ex para after what a mate told me that went on..... Broomsticks n backsides...need I say more.

It is funny how all those so called all male macho occupations had a sexual element isn't it?Big tough boys?Really??

It was a deplorable practise prevelant in a lot of workplaces and thankfully now on the wane. Why has he only recently come forward to report it some ask?

I will tell you why.Shame and because it is only recently that the police and authorities have started to take such complaints seriously.Well done to him for being brave and taking the flak, instead of staying silent and falling in line with the,''Don't be soft,be a man[laughable given the nature of the offences] and take it!''

Bovril always seems to bring the Army into any type of discussion.I think he`s fixated with men in uniform.
