Injuries 2024/25 | Ake & Bobb return to training

Kev said it is a problem in his pelvis which when he goes shoot a nerve pain stops him , never heard of it before but he was a long time out and there is always problems to overcome

He would never lie and has said he put the contract talks on hold as he had a bad injury . The rest is just nasty noise
Exactly this. I thought there was something not quite right until Kev explained it and then it all made sense. Why people choose to believe knob head gossip mongers on twitter instead of the actual players explanation baffles me

Love to know our fitness strategy for this season. It seems everyone is getting injured and our fitness levels are shocking. We cant effectively press anymore, is this because of the lack of rotation?
Is it not obvious.. players have played too many games over the last few seasons. They’re not complaining about it for no reason

Funny that Bobb was asked about as I came to ask about him because I saw Goncalo Ramos START for PSG today after breaking his fibula around the same exact time. Obviously, everyone is different. I hope Bobb didn't break his tibia and fibula, as that can be pretty common.
i was off work nearly 6 months with a tib and fibula

We will see. I don't believe the club have made that decision.
If he gets an offer it will be on vastly reduced terms, that's going to be the issue.

Personally I think it's in both parties to interests to say thank you and goodbye.

If we took your advice we'd have about three players left after clearing out those you feel are done and we'd be spending an absolute fortune replacing them with players you'd probably take an even bigger dislike to a few games later. He's one of the best players we've ever had. If he can show a return to form and fitness then he deserves a new deal, if he can't then we'll have to let him leave. But for what he's delivered for our club there's no need to rush anything or make a cut throat decision. Being an elite club doesn't mean we can't respect players who have given their best years to us and helped us win so many things along the way.

Before we buy at least 4 top quality players - we may need to lure some top quality strengh and conditioning trainers and physios.
Every single niggle turns into a full blown long term injury.
The bullshit, "we'll have to wait and see" actually means = no chance you'll see them for a month or two.

Maybe our medics had sex with a nun without her consent, if you get my meaning :)

You can't pay a player 300k a week plus and he is unavailable for more than 1/2 of our fixtures.

KDB and Stones come into that category and with their ages it ain't going to get better.

Pep has alluded to that they don’t do match training, the amount of games they have they play, recover come in for a day or two for tactical paly then play again, some havent had a rest for 4 years! I hoping Rodri when he returns will be so full of energy we get at least another 4 years at his peak.

Without any official communication I'm guessing that the Robb recovery time has increased from the initial 3-4 months (mid Aug-Mid Dec) to 5-6 months. Otherwise we'd be seeing him in training by now.

Makes it even more frustrating that we prioritised profit over progress by selling Alvarez at the end of the transfer window.

Rodri said in an Price of Football interview that he was enjoying the break as its the first one for a long time and he hopes he will return before the end of the season refreshed

I heard somewhere Bobb was training. Is this not true?

You might be right, but to be honest City's PR is so crap (and not just for injuries) I don't know what's official and what's rehashed twitter rumour

All I know is that 3-4 months ago we were told that his recovery would be 3-4 months

Now I'm reading that it will be longer, but that's only from people on this Forum who might be more clued-up than me.
I've never seen anything official either positive or negative

Yeah, breaking your tibia is no joke, as it's a super supportive weight-bearing bone.

I saw someone post a picture of Bobb at the CFA, so hopefully, he'll be back in a month or so.

I like how open Spanish clubs are about their players' injuries. They will release statements detailing exactly what injury their players suffered. It'd odd how different English clubs are in that respect, well, certainly City.
